Most writing about adult performers relies on interviews and impressions. We had a different starting point: the catalog itself.
RawPornHub indexes 5,588,370 videos and 20,112 named performers. That is not a survey or a sample. It is a record of what was actually produced and distributed, and it answers questions that interviews cannot.
Output is extraordinarily concentrated
The most prolific names in the catalog appear in thousands of scenes each. Christian XXX appears in 3,013. Mike Adriano in 2,873. Porno Dan in 2,794. Mick Blue in 2,235.
Below that tier the drop is steep. The vast majority of the 20,112 performers appear in fewer than fifty scenes, and a large share appear in fewer than ten.
This is the shape of most creative industries, but the ratio here is more extreme than in mainstream film.
Careers are shorter than reputations
Reputation outlasts output by a wide margin. Performers who stopped working years ago continue to draw search traffic and views, sometimes exceeding active performers with larger recent catalogs.
The effect is that the visible face of the industry lags the working reality of it by several years.
Categories cluster tightly
Across the catalog, a small number of categories account for a disproportionate share of tagged content. The long tail exists and is enormous in raw count, but attention concentrates on a narrow band at the top.
Why we are publishing this
Catalog data is usually treated as inventory. Read differently, it is a record of an industry, showing what was made, by whom, and how attention distributed across it.
We will keep publishing what the numbers show, including the parts that do not flatter anyone.
